Turning the Tide [UPDATED]

April 13, 2009

There has been a lot of talk about capital-C Change in regards to Tokio Hotel in 2009. There’s the new album, of course, which the band said would be different and unexpected on the Caught on Camera DVD and elsewhere; a new tour that promises to be bigger, and more far-reaching; and, of course, The Hair.

But what about the fans? The hottest topic of the holiday weekend, as even more stories alleging privacy invasion and property damage came out of Germany through the fan pipeline, has been Stalkers. This is an area that is often considered just a part of the fandom and a consequence of fame, but could this wave of stalker hype actually lead to changes?

Due to an increase of demand by its members (myself included), Tokio Hotel on Ning is heading towards being Stalker Content Free. This is certainly not the first site to reject stalker material, but it’s an active site, and some members have come out strongly  in favor of not giving stalkers attention and supporting their activities. A new “Against Stalkerazzi” group drew over 100 members in its first 24 hours.

Will things like this make a big difference in the fandom? They sure as hell can’t hurt.

Oh WOW, that is so awesome! As you know, we are hardcore anti-stalker, and it is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO awesome to see more people saying FUCK YOU to stalkers.

Is it okay to swear on here? oops.

Yes, swearing is encouraged here, when appropriate. 🙂

Wow, It definitely going to make a change. 🙂
Thanks Holly, we can help by spreading the message to all THfans, and yeah, as Schnee said we are all hardcore anti-stalker. 😉

Sadly, Stars pay the price of fame every single day when obsessed fans become stalkers, fixated on a fantasy that to them is very very real.
Do you rmember the woman who has stalked David Letterman for five years truly believes she is his wife?!! That was really sick.
They are suffering from a mental disorder and living in a dream world. What scares me here is that they may become aggressive, violent and cause a lot of mess, which could be out of control if they din’t get a respond and might end up hurting one of the boys (which actually almost happened this week).
As you know, even restraining orders do not always prevent stalkers from escalating into violence, they ‘re going to find a way somehow. :/
But, I really hope that they develop a good safety plan to stop those crazy stalkers from harrassing them like that.
